Bing Updates iPad App without a Search Box

Last April 2011, Bing, the Microsoft-powered search engine, launched its iPad app. After a few months from release, it received a warm reception on the App Store as it averaged a 4.5+ star rating.

Today, Bing will release an update packed with improvements. They introduced a new feature called Lasso which enables users to search with just the touch of their finger. Circle and search in just a couple of steps from within another webpage. This allows a faster search on your iPad as you do not need to copy the text, open a new tab and paste the text you want to search.

That’s not all though. This update also comes with:

Better movie experience (you can now view various showtime theatres and showtime days)

You can now swipe through the last 6 Bing homepage images

    Other minor updates

You can update your Bing for iPad app on the App Store. If you’re not yet using Bing, you might want to consider downloading it here, it’s free!

Personally, I think it’s a great step forward for Bing. With the Lasso tool, it is now quicker to search on the iPad. Just click the tool and draw a circle around the text you’d like to search. It’s now that easy to search on your iPad.
