Facebook Gears Up an iPad App

The dominant social networking giant, Facebook, is now planning on releasing an iPad app soonest according to New York Times.

Word on the market is that this app will feature a polished design and added functionality for chat and groups. Not to mention it will boast an awesome photo and video experience for users.

Why Just Now?

That’s the question many users ask as Facebook already has an application for the iPhone but none yet with iPad. This allows third-party apps like MyPad, which we just reviewed on our previous post, to corner some market share.

If the rumors are true that this app is on the table for almost a year now, then we have to expect something good. If Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, is truly involved in the process then we must think that this app will not be your run-of-the-mill application.

The Facebook iPad app will most likely be free if they continue with their practice (mobile apps are free).

Anyway, these are all currently just rumors but as soon as we hear something official, we’ll keep you posted as well.
