Last week is the week of Google + (plus) as it launches its social network on an invitation-only basis. Google is trying to make a pretty remarkable substitute to Facebook, the current number 1 social network.
Google+ already features a fully functional Android app while the iOS app is still waiting for Apple’s approval. Erica Joy, an employee of Google, disclosed that:
“For my iPhone using friends: the Google+ iPhone app has been submitted to the App store (no not today, sometime prior to today) and is awaiting approval.”
Joy later mentioned that the submission includes an iPad app.
Google + is a social network that presents a lot of features and hopefully, Apple will approve its iPad app soonest. It is very important for the search engine giant for its application to be approved as it will mean more users and more success of their creation.
Personally, I haven’t tried Google + though I have seen my brother tinkering with it. It does kind of look like Facebook at first glance but it seems that Google + will offer more features.
How about you, are you using this new service from Google? Are you crossing your fingers for it to be approved now on its iOS version? Are you waiting on an invite? If not, are you interested in joining another social network?
Hit the comments for your thoughts.

Wouldn’t Google want to open G+ up to the world before launching an iPad app?

Yes, I’m with you on that one. Though they have probably tested it numerous times already hence the submission to the App Store.
facebook still needs an ipad app, google+ would benefit from having one in place when the service is opened to the public
Does she mean an app optimized specifically for iPad or just a universal iPhone app that also works on the pad by doubling the resolution?
Also, would Google really release an iPad app before even doing one for the Android (Honycomb) tablets?
I hope they will make an iPad specific app.
