Simone and the Night’s Monsters iPad app is an animated story book that is ideal for parents to use as children’s bedtime story. With 26 adventure-filled pages, kids and parents would enjoy reading through Simone’s battles against the monsters at night. Here is our complete review:
The story can be read in two different ways. Parents could read it to their children just like a traditional story book by flipping through the pages. Or perhaps, they could read and watch the story as the characters come to life.
The graphics are relatively colorful and interesting to the eyes. The background music and sound effects of the story would definitely captivate the kids. I think the best feature of this app is the option to change all the characters’ names. Parents can input their child’s name instead of Simone and change the monsters’ names to people they know. Kids would certainly enjoy the story as the names of the characters become more personal to them.
However, a narration would have been a great feature to add in this app. This gives the parents the choice whether to read to their children or to enjoy listening to the story together with their kids.
The ending also pretty much confused me. I had quite a hard time trying to fully comprehend the finale. But keeping the story’s conclusion aside, Simone and the Night’s Monsters is still full of exciting adventures that would tickle the children’s imagination.
It is available on iTunes for $4.99.
Pros – animated storybook; captivating sounds; option to change the characters’ names; can support multi-tasking
Cons – no narration; quite costly;
Simone and the Night’s Monsters iPad app is a fun and interactive story book designed for children. Although it is quite costly, this app allows children to be the star in the story and it would surely tickle the kids’ imagination.
